The Ontario Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers

Objectives:

• To advance the knowledge of the profession of sonography in the province of Ontario by providing sonographers in all regions of the province with professional development opportunities;

• To encourage the highest standards of education, training and professionalism in the practice of sonography in the province of Ontario; ₁

• To foster excellence in patient care in order to maintain the welfare and dignity of every patient; _{1, 3}

• To raise awareness of the attributes of high quality medical sonography services by increasing recognition of the quality of work and professionalism of sonographers; ₂

• To foster communication, promote professional development and educational opportunities, and to act as a voice to the membership through available media (newsletter, website)
